Question about pain in left side of my body?
I have a problem. Every once in a while I get pain on the left side of my body, it hurts up into my jaw and eyesocket, down my neck and into my shoulder. But taking aspirin doesn’t even touch it. I think the muscles might be knotted up but so far the only relief I can find is to take a massager and run it down my side over my ribs. The problem is this has been happening for a few years now off and on, but only this past year has the pain become more excruciating as it gives me a massive migraine. I can’t sleep on my left side anymore and whenever I go on a long drive it hurts so bad afterwards I don’t want to do anything but lay in bed.
Situations such as yours especially when the pain is only on one side, the culprit is most likely irritation to the nerves around your neck and the base of the skull.
Test this – sit or stand still facing forward, turn your head to one side then the other, slowly. Notice if there is tightness or restriction as you turn. If you do, that pretty much tells you that there are several joints which could be fixated with possible scar tissues irritating the nerves exiting those joints (all depends on your history of life style and past trauma).
The pain is excruciating, but the solution can be quite simple and without using drugs to it up. Look for doctors of chiropractic to help you find a solution. If you have certain reservations about seeing a DC, just find one who is willing to address them with you first.
